Legacy Lecturer Program

The Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention and Management Legacy Lecturer Program celebrates leadership, inspiration, and discovery in chronic disease prevention and management.
This distinguished program welcomes both established leaders whose careers have shaped the field and emerging scholars whose ideas are charting its future. For established leaders, participation is an opportunity to share their legacy—the insights, discoveries, and lessons that have transformed science and society.
For emerging scholars, participation is a chance to help build our Centre’s future, by sharing innovative work, sparking dialogue, and inspiring the next generation of scientists. As part of each Legacy Lecturer’s visit, we ask them three questions about the research field.
Dr. Justin Haegele is a Colgate Darden Endowed Professor with the Department of Human Movement Studies & Special Education at Old Dominion University.
Dr. Javier Gonzalez is a Professor of Nutrition and Metabolism at the University of Bath and a leading researcher at the Centre for Nutrition, Exercise and Metabolism.
